Gustavo Frigerio: I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY AND I AM SAYING IT

Con “I have nothing to say, but I’m saying it” si sceglie di praticare questa seconda ipotesi.

From the 2nd to the 10th of May Gustavo Frigeri (director and choreographer) is guest of the residences in Villa Nappi to work at the project “I have nothing to say, but I’m saying it” together with Glen Çaçi, Paola Daniele ed Elena Kofinà.
The work is in honour of John Cage, also inspired by this master of music and the way he made his compositive choices. It is about the body movements in the space focusing on how the shifting equilibrium between predictability and unpredictability can destroy all the choices that someone made.
The chaos and the shifting of luck is always threatening the making up of finicking choreographies made of maps and routes which aim to divide the space.
In front of this precariousness you can protect yourself, controlling all the elements, so also the case; or, as John Cage would suggest, you can leave the continuos flux of events, detaching yourself from the “negative or positive”/” like, I dislike” logics.
“I have nothing to say but I’m saying it” put in practice the latter hypothesis.
The first phase is about the making of movements in the space, figures and landscapes, vocal and sound interventions, meetings in the stage space, crossing of roads and abandons, betrayals, stand taking, entering and going off the scene, inner maps and external maps… At last the work is depending on the chance to rebuilt the final mosaic, from the using of ancient practices as the I Ching or the dice roll, to modern ones as computer algorithms.
