Minor Constellation nasce come una costellazione interna a un più ampio progetto di residenze, articolandosi come traiettoria “minore”, come spazio laterale di intensità, relazione e possibilità. Il titolo guarda alla piccola scala, geografica, politica e affettiva, come luogo generativo, in dialogo con il territorio marchigiano, dove il margine non si configura come periferia ma come posizione da cui orientarsi.
Le tre residenze riuniscono pratiche che interrogano il corpo come sapere incarnato, la riscrittura come gesto sovversivo e la contraddizione come spazio produttivo. Nelle ricerche di Ewa Dziarnowska, Industria Indipendente e Alina Arshi emergono forme di relazione non gerarchiche, temporalità non lineari e processi in cui presenza, linguaggio e immaginazione si organizzano come costellazioni mobili.
Pensato all’interno di un contesto decentrato ma storicamente significativo per la sperimentazione performativa, Minor Constellation assume la residenza come pratica di attenzione e attraversamento. Uno spazio in cui traiettorie singolari entrano in risonanza tra luoghi differenti, componendo una figura comune, complessa, in continua formazione: una costellazione.
Il progetto si inserisce all’interno del Centro di Residenze R.A.M. – Residenze Artistiche Marchigiane e del percorso curatoriale di Ilaria Mancia che si sviluppa attraverso pratiche di lavoro con artiste e artisti e processi di ricerca nel campo della performance e installazione contemporanea. In questa continuità si colloca anche la ricerca curatoriale [in]visible, sostenuta da Italian Council nel 2025, dedicata alle forme di invisibilità, trasformazione e riemersione, nonché di produzione situata ed ecologica, nelle pratiche artistiche.

Ilaria Mancia è una curatrice italiana di arti visive e performative.
Ha collaborato con diverse istituzioni artistiche, private e pubbliche, fra cui l’Istituto Svizzero, Santarcangelo International Festival, Fondazione Lac o le Mon di Lecce, Cura/Basement, Castro Projects, Palazzo delle Esposizioni e Mattatoio di Roma- Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, dove dal 2019 al 2022 è stata curatrice e ideatrice di progetti espositivi e performativi, di formazione (Master in Arti Performative e laboratori), dei programmi di residenza e produzione. In questo contesto ha curato mostre e rassegne di performance con diversi artist* tra cui: Alessandro Sciarroni, Invernomuto, Michele Rizzo, ZAPRUDER filmmakersgroup, Jacopo Benassi, Simone Aughterlony, Ra Di Martino, MP5, Muna Mussie, Himali Singh Soin, Valentina Furian, Pierre Huygue, Revital Cohen & Tuur Van Balen, Tim Etchells, Jenna Sutela, Riccardo Benassi, Alterazioni Video, Katerina Andreou. Al Mattatoio ha sviluppato una rete di collaborazioni con istituzioni museali nazionali e internazionali per la commissione e produzione di nuove opere.
È docente di Arti Performative e Semiotica dell’arte a NABA-Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma e Milano e è stata advisor per il corso MFA di Transart Institute for Creative Research di Liverpool.
Ha lavorato con diversi artisti e compagnie di teatro e danza nazionali internazionali- tra cui Motus, Agrupación Señor Serrano (SP), Cristina Kristal Rizzo, Muta Imago, Big Art Group (USA), OHT-Office for a Human Theatre – immaginando diversi formati performativi e di ricerca e promuovendo le loro progettualità a livello internazionale, e ha collaborato con diversi festival di arti performative, teatri e spazi indipendenti italiani e stranieri. Oltre alla pratica curatoriale collabora con riviste di settore.
A primavera 2025 ha co-curato la mostra Future in the past, dedicata all’Archivio della compagnia Motus (Museo della Città- Rimini).
Da settembre 2025 è co-curatrice del Performance Program di Basement Art Assembly Biennial- BAAB_Issue 00, Cura (Roma) e curatrice con Davide Giannella della mostra evento “LATE BRUNCH” Chapter 1 (con Alterazioni Video, Yuri Ancarani, Uri Aran, Jacopo Benassi, Ragnar Kjartansson, Ra di Martino, Cesare Pietroiusti, Waxman Brothers) a Parma.
Da aprile 2026 cura il programma di performance Extended – live works in the exhibition context di Palazzo grassi e Punta della Dogana/ Pinault Collection a Venezia.
Ha avviato da settembre 2025 il progetto di ricerca curatoriale [in]visible sostenuto dal programma Italian Council (14a edizione, 2025).

Minor Constellation emerges as a constellation within a broader residency project, articulating itself as a “minor” trajectory, as a lateral space of intensity, relationship, and possibility. The title looks to the small scale, geographical, political, and affective, as a generative place, in dialogue with the Marche region, where the margin is not configured as a periphery but as a position from which to orient oneself.
The three residencies bring together practices that interrogate the body as embodied knowledge, rewriting as a subversive gesture, and contradiction as a productive space. In the research of Ewa Dziarnowska, Industria Indipendente, and Alina Arshi, non-hierarchical forms of relationship, non-linear temporalities, and processes emerge in which presence, language, and imagination organize themselves as mobile constellations.
Conceived within a decentralized yet historically significant context for performative experimentation, Minor Constellation approaches the residency as a practice of attention and transition. A space where singular trajectories resonate across different places, composing a shared, complex figure in constant formation: a constellation.
The project is part of the R.A.M. Residency Center – Residenze Artistiche Marchigiane and Ilaria Mancia’s curatorial approach, which unfolds through collaborative practices with artists and research processes in the field of contemporary performance and installation.
This is also reflected in the curatorial research project [in]visible, supported by the Italian Council in 2025, dedicated to forms of invisibility, transformation, and re-emergence, as well as situated and ecological production in artistic practices.

Ilaria Mancia is an Italian curator of visual and performing arts.
She has collaborated with various private and public artistic institutions, including the Swiss Institute, Santarcangelo International Festival, Fondazione Lac o le Mon in Lecce, Cura/Basement, Castro Projects, Palazzo delle Esposizioni, and Mattatoio di Roma- Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, where from 2019 to 2022 she was curator and creator of exhibition and performance projects, training programs (Master’s in Performing Arts and workshops), residency programs, and production programs. In this context, she has curated exhibitions and performance reviews with various artists, including: Alessandro Sciarroni, Invernomuto, Michele Rizzo, ZAPRUDER filmmakersgroup, Jacopo Benassi, Simone Aughterlony, Ra Di Martino, MP5, Muna Mussie, Himali Singh Soin, Valentina Furian, Pierre Huygue, Revital Cohen & Tuur Van Balen, Tim Etchells, Jenna Sutela, Riccardo Benassi, Alterazioni Video, and Katerina Andreou. At Mattatoio, she has developed a network of collaborations with national and international museum institutions for the commissioning and production of new works.
She teaches Performing Arts and Art Semiotics at NABA-Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome and Milan and was an advisor for the MFA course at the Transart Institute for Creative Research in Liverpool.
She has worked with various national and international artists and theater and dance companies—including Motus, Agrupación Señor Serrano(SP), Cristina Kristal Rizzo, Muta Imago, Big Art Group (USA), and OHT-Office for a Human Theater—imagining different performance and research formats and promoting their projects internationally. She has also collaborated with various performing arts festivals, theaters, and independent spaces in Italy and abroad. In addition to her curatorial practice, she contributes to specialist magazines.
In the spring of 2025, she co-curated the exhibition Future in the past, dedicated to the Motus Company Archive (Museo della Città, Rimini)
