Un viaggio visivo tra i panorami bellici dai primi dell’’800 ad oggi. Il titolo “Controllo remoto” rimanda ai sistemi di supervisione che permettono di monitorare e gestire, in tempo reale, qualunque apparecchiatura, laddove dimensione della rete di controllo remoto e l’acquisizione di dati hanno un loro preciso impiego militare. Il nuovo lavoro della compagnia Orthographe, in anteprima, interroga la “fede percettiva” attraverso l’immaginario bellico, a partire dalle fotografie di guerra della Secessione americana, fino alle tecniche di ripresa e videocontrollo dei campi di battaglia, sviluppatesi durante la I e la II Guerra mondiale e le strategie filmiche attuali impiegate nell’uso intensivo delle ricognizioni aeree. Il gruppo Orthographe nasce nel 2004 dall’incontro di quattro persone dai percorsi artistici eterogenei attorno al lavoro di ricerca di Alessandro Panzavolta sulla camera ottica. Il nome deriva dal loro primo spettacolo Orthographe de la physionomie en mouvement, creazione per la Biennale di Venezia 2005.

“Controllo remoto” is vision machinery questioning the “perceptive faith” through the war imagery. War is shown from the point of view of overseeing-destruction and forecast-destruction device: in those shoots, to focus a target means to destroy it. Controllo remoto owns targeting tools: the camera’s objective on the plane forecasts the unreal image of the army clash in which the image wins on the object, time on space, in an industrial war where the representation of the events dominates the representation of the facts.
