“Inteatro, festival of. One of the most remarkable moments in the european festivals setting. The basic idea is to make a theatre where and with whom the community could live. A theatre which is conceived as a place or, better, as a contamination of places and languages: every year in July the urban space of Polverigi becomes a stage, the place for theatre and for the community, getting toghter and than overlapping, in a complete artistic freedom. InteatroFestival is an international event organized and produced by Inteatro. It started in 1977 and since than, every end of June – beginning of July, it enlivens Villa Nappi and some other venues in Polverigy and the surrounding area.
It was born as a free meeting of indipendent groups and, getting on in years, it has become one of the most important appointment for the audience, for artists, for professionals, gaining for itself and for the village an high popularity in the context of european contemporaty performing arts.
Among the hosted artists, from all over the world, we can mention Jan Fabre (Belgium), Mike Figgis (United Kingdom), Eduard Lock (Canada), William Kentridge (South Africa), Alain Platel (France), Wim Vandekeybus (Belgium), Joseph Nadj (France/Hungary), Francesca Lattuada (France), Giorgio Barberio Corsetti, Mario Martone, Mauricio Celedon (Cile), Caden Manson (USA), Marco Paolini, Ascanio Celestini, Societas Raffaello Sanzio.
