Glen Çaçi: 2 creative residency

Glen Çaçi and Silvia Mai is coming back to Polverigi, from 1st to 5th October, for a second period of study and choreographic research in order to define their project before the premiere.

Glen Çaçi was born in 1979 in Tirana, Albania, where he lives until 2000 mainly working with music. He lives in Italy since 2001, where he began his artistic career first as a circus performer, then as an actor, then as a dancer / performer.

He studied with Yves Lebreton, Tony Clifton Circus, Maurizio Lupinelli, Silvia Rampelli, Masaki Iwana, Gustavo Frigerio, Chiara Frigo, Geraldine Pilgrim, Raffaella Giordano. He has worked with Tony Clifton Circus, Andrea De Rosa, Company Babbaluck, Taverna East, Andrea Saggiomo, Chiara Frigo.

He received a special mention at the prize Scenario 2005 with Taverna East, won the prize Nuove Sensibilità in 2007 with the company Andrea Saggiomo and Fabbrica Europa’s Cantieri Navali in 2009.

In 2011 he debuted in Inteatro Polverigi Festival with his first work entitled Cascare dal sonno, then invited to represent the brands in the review Vetrina XL.

He participated in several festivals, such as the Teatro Santarcangelo, Drodesera, Volterra, Fabbrica Europa, International Festival of Theatre in Lugano, Biennale of art in Naples, Teatro Studio Scandicci.

Silvia Mai was born in Verona in 1984. After graduating in scenography at the Academy of Arts in Venice, she moved to Milan to study theater with the master Kuniaki Ida.

In 2009 met Raffaella Giordano, and starts the two-year course of training “Scriptures for Contemporary Dance” at the end of which, together with 11 other artists of the same period, she founded the research group “FamigliaFuchè.” Other important figures in his work are Ang Gey Pin, Maria Munoz, Claude Coldy, Cynthia De Lorenzi, Silvia Rampelli, Dominique Dupuy.

From 2010 she began working with the Theater Valdoca, working as a dancer in the show Caino and now in some new projects. In 2011, with Sveva Scognamiglio and Clare Goldsmith, began studying for the creation of Elles sont partout and a personal approach to authorial working on her first solo dance Raku.
