RC Lagartijas tiradas al sol – Santiago Amoukalli

This story is about a stay in Santiago Amoukalli, a remote place in the southwest of Mexico. The inhabitants there speak Náhuatl, only a little Spanish. Visitors here feel strangely foreign in their own country, while at the same time national elections are coming up. It rains a lot. This story take place in turbulent times in a country with fever and in a place, that may have never existed. The performative exhibition Santiago Amoukalli ist part of a large scale project about democracy in Mexico by Lagartijas tiradas al sol, and will be premiered at Belluard Bollwerk International festival in Fribourg on June 30, July 1 and 2 2016, selected in the frame of the call ‘Living Traditions’ from an international jury Marche Teatro has taken part to.
