let’s start from the body
The body is the privileged place of control, physically and physiologically.
Since ancient times, man and woman have organized collective situations where the bodies are free to move, following sound and music. Through different cultures and times, that allowed them to regain control of their bodies.
Due to this endless amount of experience, what if I choose to confront the restraints within my body?
Originally graduated at the school of Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, she’s studied with several choreographers and directors of the contemporary field, such as Corinne Lancelle, Carl Portal, Wayne Byrn, Nicole Caccivio, Michael Maulem (Sasha Waltz), Monica Casadei, Michele Pogliani, Koshro Adibi,Inaki Azpillaga (Wim Vandekeybus), Abou Lagraa, Roberto Zappalà, Sara Simeoni, Giorgio Rossi, Hannes Langolf and Ermira Goro (DV8), Michele di Stefano, Silvia Rampelli, Peter Jasko, Clara Furey, German Jauregui, Roberta Nicolai _Triangoloscalenoteatro, Alberto di Stasio and Fiorenza Menni/Andrea Mochi Sismondi and Giovanni Brunetto_Teatrino Clandestino, Motus and Teatro Valdoca.
Since 2003, she’s collaborate with Teatro dell’Opera; Asphalt, directed by Loris Petrillo; Aterballetto, directed by Mauro Bigonzetti; Linga, directed by Marco Cantalupo and Katarzyna Gdaniec; Cie Twain, directed by Loredana Parrella; Atacama, directed by Patrizia Cavola and Ivan Truol; Gruppo E-motion, directed by Francesca La Cava; Les gens d’Uterpan; gruppo nanou, directed by Marco Valerio Amico, Rhuena Bracci and Roberto Rettura; she worked also with Orazio Caiti, Juan Diego Puerta Lopez, Anna Redi, Alessandro Berdini, Alberto di Stasio, Muta Imago directed by Claudia Sorace and Riccardo Fazi. She collaborates also with Opera theaters.
Since 2013, she started working on her own artistic research, leading to “Moto perpetuo_prima deviazione”, presented at Roma Europa Festival and selected first for AnticorpiXL network, then for the Showcase of the Young Dance Coreographers.
Chiara Caimmi, born in Ancona in 1983, started her performer’s career very soon, moving from physical theatre to acting to contact improvisation, even thanks to Inteatro Festival Academy, where she could work with Nico and the Navigators, Michele Abbondanza, Big Art Group, Donata D’urso, Benjamin Verdonck. She studied also with Fanny Alexander (eterodirezione, 2016), S. Calderoni and I. Caleo (performance, 2015), G.B. Corsetti and F. Niccolini (drama and acting, 2012), N. Karpov (biomeccanica teatrale, 2010) e Javier Cura (contact improvisation, 2005- 2007).
Since 2009, she works continuously with Muta Imago and OHT company directed by Filippo Andreatta; she collaborates also with Anna Basti with a specific attention on body-control.
