Meridians – Concorso di Creazione
MERIDIANS, rete europea delle arti sceniche negli spazi urbani, offre un sostegno finanziario a 3 proposte artistiche di piccole / medie dimensioni che debutteranno nell’estate 2011, per un valore di 20.000 euro ciascuna.
MERIDIANS, the European network for the performing arts in non-conventional venues, is offering financial support for 3 small/medium scale commissions to be premiered in summer 2011. As transnational working and the mobility of artists throughout the EU are the network’s core aims, the principal requirement of the commission Il bando è rivolto a compagnie con sede in uno dei paesi dei membri della rete MERIDIANS: Belgio, Francia, Italia, Slovenia, Spagna, Svezia, Regno Unito. Saranno privilegiati i progetti inviati da artisti giovani ed emergenti, formazioni artistiche con meno di 6 anni di esperienza di lavoro professionale, artisti e formazioni che affrontano per la prima volta progetti appositamente creati per gli spazi urbani.
Il progetto deve prevedere, nelle fasi di creazione o sviluppo del lavoro, la partecipazione di un “Artista” (regista / coreografo / designer / artista visivo) già affermato nel panorama internazionale, residente in un paese dell’Unione Europea differente da quello della compagnia.
La domanda deve pervenire, completa della documentazione richiesta (vedi bando in allegato), improrogabilmente entro:

MERIDIANS, rete europea delle arti performative in spazi non convenzionali, è stata fondata nel 2006 per favorire la mobilità, l’unione creativa e il dialogo interculturale tra artisti e organizzazioni di differenti paesi dell’Unione Europea. Meridians promuove e sostiene progetti artistici all’insegna della multidisciplinarietà che utilizzano il paesaggio e l’ambiente urbano come collante e strumento di dialogo tra gli abitanti. Nel 2010-2012 la rete Meridians è costituita dai seguenti festival: Ana Desetnica (Slovenia), FiraTàrrega (Spagna), Inteatro Festival (Italia), MiramirO, Ghent (Belgio), Scènes de Rue, Mulhouse (Francia), Stockton International Riverside Festival (UK), Stockholm Culture Festival (Svezia). is that your proposal should create an opportunity for you to work on the development of the project with an artist/director/choreographer/designer/mentor (“Visiting Professional”) who is resident in another EU country.
We particularly welcome applications from young, emerging artists and companies (those with less than 6 years’ experience of working professionally) or from artists and companies new to creating work for urban spaces. Your proposal must be suitable for international touring.
The value of the 3 commissions offered by the Meridians network is 20,000 Euros each.
You can apply if you/your company is permanently based in one of the Meridians network member countries: Belgium, France, Italy, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom. Your nominated Visiting Professional can be resident in any one of the 27 EU member states.
The Deadline for receipt of Proposals is 20th April 2010.

MERIDIANS, is a European network for the performing arts in non-conventional venues which was established in 2006. The network exists to promote the creation and co-production of works based on exchanges between artists and partners from various European Union countries, in order to spread intercultural and European creations in the field of the performing arts. These should inhabit and use the city as a stage to link its citizens to non-conventional theatre languages.
