Meridians
Rete europea della performing art in spazi non convenzionali, Meridians is a new European network, created by 6 major European performing arts festivals, for the exchange of artists, joint creation and intercultural dialogue in the performing arts in non-conventional venues.
The network will promote the creation and co-production of works based on exchanges between artists andor partners from various European Union countries, in order to spread intercultural and European creations in the field of the performing arts that inhabit and use the city as a stage and enclave to link the citizens to the new street and non-conventional theatre languages.
MERIDIANS aims to promote exchange and mobility of artists for the creation of a joint work. Interculturality will be both the theme that inspires the creation and the origins, and focus for the artists. There will be the maximum diffusion of the new works commissioned by the network with the support of the EU Culture programme.
The MERIDIANS projects will be seen by the maximum possible audience in the 6 festivals of the co-organisers: Ana Desetnica; International Street Theatre Festival (Slovenia); ISTF, Internationaal Straattheaterfestival (Belgium); Stockton International Riverside Festival (UK); Sommerwerft Theaterfestival am Fluss (Germany); L’avant-scène Coup de Chauffe Cognac (France), FiraTàrrega (Spain) and two partner festivals: Inteatro Festival (Italy) and Stockholms Kulturfestival (Sweden).
Rete europea della performing art in spazi non convenzionali, Meridians è una nuova rete europea creata da 8 grandi festival di arti performative, per la mobilità degli artisti, la creazione congiunta, il dialogo interculturale tra artisti ed organizzazioni impegnati nel campo delle arti performative in luoghi non convenzionali.
La rete intende promuovere la creazione e la co-produzione di opere attraverso lo scambio tra artisti e/o partner provenienti da vari paesi dell’Unione europea, al fine di diffondere la creazione interculturale nel campo delle arti dello spettacolo.
Meridians, dunque, mira a promuovere lo scambio e la mobilità degli artisti per la creazione di lavori comuni, che avranno come riferimento il tema dell’interculturalità. Le nuove opere commissionate dalla rete avranno, grazie al sostegno della Comunità Europea, la massima diffusione nei paesi degli 8 festival aderenti alla rete.
La rete è costituita da 6 co-organizzatori: Ana Desetnica; International Street Theatre Festival (Slovenia); ISTF, Internationaal Straattheaterfestival (Belgio); Stockton International Riverside Festival (UK); Sommerwerft Theaterfestival am Fluss (Germania); L’avant-scène Coup de Chauffe Cognac (Francia), FiraTàrrega (Spagna); e due partner: InteatroFestival (Italia) e Stockholms Kulturfestival (Svezia).
