Effimero feltrito (Ephemeral matted) [installation]
Dust and dirt are the ultimate memory of our presence in space.
Traces are lost in the grand sweep of history and in today’s world of mass production, anonymous spectacle and sterile surfaces, it has become increasingly difficult to leave traces, through the investigation of the body’s relationship to surface, space and material.
The research looks at possibilities of bodily presentations, particularly with regard to the shifting relationship of physicality, mark and space.
“I think at the end we are storytellers with many stories to tell: the story of the material and its cultural meaning; the story of how the object is made and its life in the world, and the story of my body in relation to the object/material” [Janine Antoni]
